The Great Festival Flash Off: Series 4

Check out the programmes below for The Great Festival Flash Off, Series Four, a trio of online festival days on Saturdays October 26th, Novenber 30th 2023 and January 11th 2025 inspired again by the UK reality show the Great British Bake Off, with signature, technical and showstopper writing challenges.
As on previous festival online days, we have 3 workshops per day, flash readings, the mini competitions with prizes, yoga for writers and community chats.

Saturday October 26th

11.00 am – 11.30 am London time

  • Introduction to the day from festival director, Jude Higgins, who will introduce the month’s ‘signature’ writing competition challenge. Followed by 10-15 mins drafting time.

11.30 am – 11.45 am

  • Coffee chats in Zoom break out groups with world wide flash fiction friends.

12.00 pm – 1.00 pm

  • Workshop with Judy Darley: Writing on Water. Take a deep dive into your writing

  • Reading slots 3 or 4 world-wide authors read their stories

1.15 – 1.45 pm

  • Chats in Zoom break out groups with world wide flash fiction friends. Plus a lunch break

2.00pm – 3.00 pm

  • The Historical and the Fantastical: a discussion, readings and Q & A from Diane Simmons and Karen Jones who will talk about and read from their recently published Novellas in Flash

3.00 pm – 3.15pm

  • A surprise session/li>

3.20 pm – 3.35 pm

  • Yoga stretches with Sudha Balagopal.

3.45 pm – 4.00 tea break chats

4.00 pm – 4.20 pm

  • Four flash fiction writers read their favourite stories

5.00 pm – 6.30 pm

  • Workshop with Ingrid Jendzrejewski

6.30 pm – 6.35 pm.

  • Thank you and goodbyes.

Saturday November 30th
